One of the central bits I covered was the three levers to increase your sales.
In plain English, there are only three ways sales grow. Small moves on each stack up fast, e.g. if you increase each by 10%, the overall impact is 33% as they compound.
I ran through a number of ways to increase each, but here are a few starters.
More customers – bring in a few more of the right buyers
How to do it: partner with one business that already serves your ideal customer and swap three warm introductions this month.
Real-life example: a carpets or blinds company pairs with a local estate agent. New buyers get a brochure or free measure and layout plan card in their moving pack, plus a small welcome gift from the agent (perhaps even co-funded by the carpets business). Both win.
Higher average value – help customers choose a better option
How to do it: show three clear choices so the middle package includes what most buyers value. Offer a helpful add-on at checkout.
Real-life example: EasyJet fare tiers and McDonald’s “make it a meal” nudge raise the average ticket without pressure. There are plenty of options in your business too.
More purchases – invite happy customers back sooner
How to do it: book the next appointment before they leave and/or use a simple loyalty perk to trigger the return visit
Real-life example: hair salons book the next cut at the till, and Costa’s loyalty app keeps customers coming back on a rhythm to earn a free drink.
