I’m sure you’re using Chat GPT in your business. And, if not, why not??? We’re big fans at JDA and all of the team have a paid “Team” account so we get the latest updates and data security.

But, while most people are using it for the basics – writing blogs or coming up with ideas – what are our
favourite “non-obvious” uses?

1. Meeting summaries and action points

Instead of scribbling notes or relying on memory, you can feed ChatGPT a transcript (from Zoom, Teams, or Fireflies) and get a neat summary with clear action points. It keeps everyone accountable and saves time rewriting minutes.

2. Customer FAQs and knowledge bases

You can use ChatGPT to help draft a library of answers for your most common customer questions – whether that’s delivery times, pricing queries, or how to use your product. This makes staff training easier and gives you ready-to-go content for your website.

3. Role-play for tricky conversations

Got to handle a difficult staff appraisal, negotiate with a supplier, or chase a late payer? Ask ChatGPT to role-play the other side. It helps you prepare your wording, anticipate objections, and go in with more confidence.

4. Data and spreadsheet help

Struggling with a tricky formula in Excel, or need a template for tracking KPIs? ChatGPT can guide you step by step and even generate formulas for you.

5. Competitor or prospect insights

Beyond basic research, you can ask ChatGPT to pull together comparisons of competitors’ offerings, highlight industry trends, or even summarise reviews of rival businesses. (Or perhaps your own??) It helps you see the bigger picture without spending hours digging. We also do this before we meet any prospect.
