Our client, Envesca, is celebrating an impressive 30 years in business, marking three decades of helping organisations navigate food safety, health and safety, fire safety and compliance training with confidence. What began in 1996 as a response to growing uncertainty in the food industry has evolved into a nationally recognised training and consultancy provider built on expertise, adaptability and long-term relationships.
Envesca’s story began during a pivotal moment for UK food safety. Following the devastating Wishaw E. coli outbreak and the introduction of new Food Labelling Regulations, businesses across the food, hospitality and catering sectors faced increasing pressure to understand and comply with stricter standards. Recognising the urgent need for practical support and guidance, Sue and Simon Ellis established Envesca to help businesses navigate these new regulations with confidence.
What makes Envesca’s journey particularly notable is its ability to evolve while maintaining consistently high standards. In the early years, the business expanded beyond food safety training into health and safety services, creating greater stability and allowing the company to grow sustainably. As technology developed, Envesca adapted again, introducing online eLearning courses to their growing portfolio.
That adaptability became especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic, when face-to-face training stopped almost overnight. Envesca moved quickly, becoming one of the first centres to offer virtual courses and online invigilated exams, allowing them to deliver training to organisations across the
world. Importantly, the business never allowed quality to slip, investing heavily in trainer development to maintain engaging and effective delivery.
The strength of Envesca is also reflected in its people and customer relationships. Several employees have remained with the business for more than 10, 15 and even 20 years, while many customer relationships have spanned decades.
