On Sunday, Jon, Louise, Billie and I headed down to Birmingham to get ready for this year’s National Entrepreneurs Convention, hosted by Entrepreneurs Circle. This was my second year attending this event, and after the great time I had last year, I was really looking forward to this year’s event.

The Entrepreneurs Circle, (if you haven’t already heard of it) is a Nationwide business growth agency, that helps small to medium sized businesses to grow and reach their potential. They focus on helping businesses to understand their marketing, what the best tactics are to grow and how to take ownership of getting their businesses to the place they want them to be. Jon and I also host the Liverpool monthly meetings for the Entrepreneurs Circle, in which business owners from across the city come together to meet and discuss key strategies to help them grow,

Last year’s event was brilliant, and it was great to hear from such influential people in business such as Sara Davies from Dragons Den and Marcus Sheridan, the author of ‘They Ask You Answer’, one of Jon’s personal favourite marketing books.

Just like last year, we had a stand at this year’s convention where we were able to chat to many entrepreneurs from across the country, learn about their businesses and discuss how our services could help them to unlock their potential and grow. On the subject of unlocking your potential, we had a game on our stand this year which enabled people to answer a series of accounting questions, figure out the sum and crack the code! This urged people to think about the key numbers in their business and identify what they should be keeping track of. The winners where gifted with prosecco and chocolates and then also placed into a prize draw to win a VIP ticket to next years convention!

Another difference from the last convention is that I was actually a VIP this year. Yes, a very important person! This meant that I was able to grab a picture with the likes of Sarah Willingham, best known for her multiple business ventures and appearances as a host on Dragons Den and also Dave Fishwick, best known for ‘The Bank of Dave’. It also meant unlimited drinks in happy hour… the real showstopper.

As always, it was great to hear from such influential people in business, along with some of the great EC members and team. As a marketing student, it was a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and see how different businesses are putting the key theories into practice. I left feeling inspired with lots of great nuggets to implement into the business.

It was great to chat with lots of different entrepreneurs at our stand, along with seeing some of our current clients who are also EC members. If you was at the convention, and didn’t get a chance to chat with us, feel free to drop us an email at gr****@jo******************.uk.

If you would like any more information about Entrepreneurs Circle, and Jons role in it, please also feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to have a chat or send you some details.
