Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards

On Thursday 17th November 2022, Jon and I were invited to Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards at Liverpool World Museum. We were invited along by LJMU Graduate Futures, a funded scheme which enables students and employers to work together for a placement year. I was lucky enough to get a placement through this scheme, (which is why I am sat here writing this blog!) and I cannot recommend it enough.

The support that I received from the initial application and throughout my placement has been amazing. The Graduate Futures team helps both students and employers, by allowing young people to benefit from valuable, paid work experience, whilst also giving employers partial funding of the salary. If you are a business owner, looking for an intern then I would definitely take a look at the LJMU Graduate Futures website.

The awards evening was fantastic from start to finish. It was amazing to be around such a variety of different businesses from across the city, and to celebrate those who have driven their organisation forward over the last year. We received a three-course dinner which was delicious despite the fact that I am quite the fussy eater! Despite the disaster I had with my outfits, three dresses later we got there, and the evening was great!

The evening was sponsored by Block N Mesh, along with other organisations such as:

  • University of Liverpool Management School
  • Clockwise
  • National Museums Liverpool
  • The Pentone Family
  • Everton Stadium
  • Lexus Liverpool
  • Liverpool John Moores University
  • LJMU Graduate Futures
  • LCR Founders
  • Bruntwood

It was a brilliant evening, and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given whilst working at Jon Davies Accountants through the Graduate Futures scheme.  If you are an employer looking for an intern or alternatively a student seeking a placement, please feel free to get in touch and I will be happy to give you some more information about the scheme.
