Liverpool Band Vans started in 2017, providing vehicle hire to musicians and for events up and down the country.

In March 2020, gigs were halted with no date for when they would be up and running again. On the flip side, online shopping and delivery boomed overnight, and couriers were struggling to keep up with the demand.

Kevin Mooney and Douglas Wood thought “we have vans but no bands, so what can we do?” and switched their business model to provide their vans to DHL to conduct deliveries nationwide. They are now DHL’s number one supplier in Liverpool.

The company now plans to expand the Logistics operations further with DHL and expand their set of private commercial clients. In line with the government road plan, they are also planning for the reopening of the band van side of the company in June 2021.

And the best news – some of the musicians that are currently out of work have been driving the vans and conducting the deliveries. It’s great to see a business seizing the opportunity to keep flourishing during the pandemic!
